The ACT stands for American College Testing, a college admissions examination produced by ACT, Inc. It is accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. The ACT has up to 5 components: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing (Essay) section. The main four tests are scored individually on a scale of 1–36, and a Composite score is provided which is the whole number average of the four scores. The ACT is not an aptitude or an IQ test. The school actually prepares you for the test, the questions on the ACT are directly related to what is learnt in high school courses in English, mathematics, reading, and science.
